  5. DESCRIPTION :
  6.  
  7.         IPX-Diagnostics for Windows is a Shareware-Program to scan the
  8.         entire network for connected nodes and to show the internal
  9.         statistics of these nodes provided by IPX/SPX and the installed
  10.         NIC. It uses only IPX for searching nodes, what means that all
  11.         attached nodes appear in the node list, even File-Servers,
  12.         Print-Servers and workstations which are not logged in. The
  13.         program also performs a Ping-Test between the selected node and
  14.         the own workstation.

  17. INTRODUCTION :

  19.         After starting the program you have to scan the network first.
  20.         Click 'Scan' in the menu or press 'ALT-S'. The node list will
  21.         be filled with the found nodes. Now you can select a node by
  22.         using the mouse or the cursor keys. After selecting a node the
  23.         'Basic Information' screen will be filled and enabled. Now you
  24.         can enter a name and location for the selected node or switch
  25.         to other Information-screens by clicking with the mouse on the
  26.         labels right or pressing 'ALT-x', where x means the number of
  27.         the screen. If you have problems, please refer to the INI-File
  28.         first.

  31. ADDITIONEL FILES NEEDED :

  33.         You also need NWIPXSPX.DLL from Novell to run the program. This
  34.         file is included here. Look for new versions on NETWIRE in
  35.         TOP_DOWNLOADS, file WINUPx.EXE.

  37.         IPX-Diagnostics require that the workstation be setup as a
  38.         NetWare-Client, so you have to load IPX.COM or IPXODI.COM 
  39.         before starting Windows. The following lines should be
  40.         included in the SYSTEM.INI file to properly load network 
  41.         components for Windows :

  50. INSTALLATION :
  51.  
  52.         Create a subdirectory, copy and unzip the file IDIAGW.ZIP in
  53.         this directory. Start Windows and create a new program group.
  54.         Add IPX-Diagnostics for Windows to this group.

  57. LIMITATIONS :
  58.  
  59.         Only the screens for the installed components can be filled. That
  60.         means, if you select a node where NETX is not loaded, the screens
  61.         for the shell are empty.
  62.  
  63.         Some screens are not filled, when the selected node is an 3.xx or
  64.         4.xx File-Server.
  65.  
  66.         When you save a name and a location for a node, they will appear
  67.         in the node list after the next scan.

  69.         The unclicensed Version is reduced to show not more then 5(Five)
  70.         nodes in the node list.
